July 9, 2020
Restaurant closures were announced on Friday 20th March and as such overnight the majority of our customers were closed for the foreseeable. Supermarket shelves were reportedly becoming empty of the key essentials. We had plenty of restaurant quality produce available and therefore there was no doubt of what to do next.
As well as home delivery via our website we quickly opened Yorkshire’s Finest Pop Up Butcher’s Shop at our butchery in Kirkby Malzeard on Wednesday 25th March. At this stage lockdown was at its highest with only being allowed away from home for essentials. A shop counter was all new to us, normally hidden behind the walls and delivering direct to restaurants. It has been an absolute privilege to be able offer our products for sale to the local community . In addition to this very humbling for them to support us during such uncertain times.
Many customers have become regulars and the launch of our Privilege card has gone down a storm. It has been fantastic to meet so many new faces as well as catch up with others that have known the family for generations.
Now 54 shop openings later, lockdown starting to ease with a new ‘normal’ returning and supermarket shelves not looking as bare people are returning to their ‘old ways’.
We have therefore made the decision to reduce our shop opening days to two days per week, Friday and Saturday 10am – 2pm for the month of July. Don’t miss out on the incredible offers that we have available each week and especially with Yorkshire Day less than a month away which will be our last regular opening.
As yet for the future of the shop we shall be asking you, our customers, when you come to store to let us know. Your Privilege Card will still be carried through to our e-Privilege Card so do not fear. We value your custom whether its face to face or online so thank you.
We hope to see you soon!
