R & J Yorkshire’s Finest Farmers and Butchers has now been running for over 40 years. In this time our team have been working 6 days a week. The industry is not an easy ride. It requires dedication and a passion in order to meet the needs placed upon us.

Supply to the hospitality industry works on less than a 12 hour turn around. As much as we encourage pre-orders, chefs can place orders until midnight after evening service for delivery the next day. Our Day Shift therefore kicks off at 4.30am. This is in order to prepare the products fresh ready for despatch that morning. Our first van leaves at approximately 6 am. Six consecutive early morning get ups and working busy days can take its toll on everyone.

If ‘Covid Lockdown‘ has taught us anything, it is about the value of life. Our team is key to our success and a tired team does not do anyone any favours. We have been working hard over the last couple of years, as have many businesses, to promote and enhance an improved Work -Life Balance. As a family business, with two small children ourselves, we fully appreciate the struggles that are faced when it comes to the juggling act of life.

We have therefore taken the decision for Yorkshire’s Finest Team to operate and deliver Monday to Friday. It may be revolutionary in the Catering Butchery industry for Saturdays to be non-operational. Some may frown upon it but we believe that our team deserve a full weekend off. It is a busy environment to work and the team thrive in it but it also key to have prime relaxation time with family and friends (social distancing permitting).

R & J Yorkshire’s Finest Farmers and Butchers is exactly that and we pride ourselves on the products and service that we supply. As well as the care that we have for our team members.

We are always looking for skilled individuals to join our team including Master Butchers, Weigh Scale Operatives and Night Shift in particular.
